Topping up your Starbackr wallet is very easy. It can be done using a Lightning transaction (if you have Bitcoin on a wallet that supports Lightning payments) or using an on-chain transaction (if you want to fund your wallet from a source that does not support Lightning payments yet, like an exchange, a hardware wallet or a regular Bitcoin wallet).
Topping up with an On-Chain Payment #
Topping up with an on-chain payment is only available for amounts greater than 5 USD. Open your Starbackr Wallet by clicking the wallet icon in your navigation-bar on Starbackr. Your wallet will open up in a new tab. Then click on “TOP UP”. Enter the amount you want to deposit on your Starbackr Wallet and confirm.
Your wallet will now display a QR code and the amount in Sats. Use the arrow to the right to switch between Lightning Payment (Lightning Icon) and On-Chain Payment (Bitcoin Icon). Select On-Chain payment. Now scan the QR code with a wallet of your choice. You can also copy the bitcoin-address by clicking “COPY” in the lower left corner. Bitcoin sent to that address will be added to your Starbackr wallets balance and will be available for payments on Starbackr as well as regular Lightning payments.
Topping up with Lightning Payment #
Open your Starbackr Wallet by clicking the wallet icon in your navigation-bar on Starbackr. Your wallet will open up in a new tab. Then click on “TOP UP”.
Enter the amount you want to deposit on your Starbackr Wallet and confirm. Your wallet will now display a QR code and the amount in Sats. Use the arrow to the right to switch between Lightning Payment and On-Chain Payment. Select Lightning payment. Now scan the QR code with a Lightning Wallet of your choice. You can also copy the invoice by clicking “COPY” in the lower left corner. The invoice will be valid for 120 seconds. If the payment is successful you will see a payment confirmation and the amount will be added to your Starbackr wallets balance.
